MusterFire International has just unveiled a revolutionary fire suppression solution—the Muster Misting System—designed specifically for compact fire safety in small mobile machinery.
This innovative system is tailored for engine compartments with dimensions up to 2.25 cubic meters, featuring a maximum height of 1.5 meters. It utilizes a highly effective 1% fluorine-free F3 foam solution that is discharged through advanced misting nozzles. Operating at a pressure of 16 bars, these stainless-steel nozzles create an impressive spray pattern with a 45-degree angle and a reach of 200 to 1500 millimeters. The result? Ultra-fine droplets that quickly absorb heat, displace oxygen, and extinguish flames. Moreover, the foam forms a durable vapor-seal film on fuel surfaces, significantly reducing the risk of re-ignition during extended discharge periods, which can last anywhere from 143 to 408 seconds depending on the specific kit used.
The activation mechanism leverages Loss-of-Pressure (LOP) technology; when temperatures rise to approximately 140°C, a heat-sensitive tube ruptures, triggering a pneumatic valve for automatic release. This feature is complemented by manual push-button actuators for added convenience. Additionally, the system includes a fire-indicator panel, designed to IP65 standards and operating on 12–24VDC, ensuring constant monitoring. This panel offers visual and audible alarms, fault detection capabilities, and a programmable relay output, which seamlessly integrates with Muster360 cloud diagnostics—providing proactive protection for valuable assets.
Rigorous testing has certified this system to AS5062:2022 standards and it has also been evaluated according to UL1254 protocols. Users benefit from pre-engineered kits containing between 10 to 30 nozzles and cylinders ranging from 15 to 23 liters. The design incorporates modular stainless components, ensuring straightforward installation even under harsh conditions, withstanding temperatures from -20°C to 80°C. Additionally, the eco-friendly F3 concentrate adheres to global EPA standards, successfully eliminating bio-persistent fluorines while maintaining excellent performance against Class A and B fires.
